Optimizing PV Site Design

Leveraging algorithms to improve, inform, and simplify PV architecture

Step 1: Import a KML File

Naming Conventions
1. Regions where you want trackers to be placed must be labeled ‘Site Boundaries’
2. Areas where you do not want trackers to be placed must be labeled ‘DC Constraints’

Need a KML File?
Google Earth makes quick work of generating .kml files. After navigating to their website, define areas using the polygon drawing tool
and label them accordingly. Then export the boundaries as a .kml file.
